Our Approach
Informed. Prepared. Persistent.
Our approach is grounded in lived experience and a simple belief: every person, every family member, every voice, every concern and every question matters.
We equip individuals and families with the knowledge, preparation and practical tools to advocate effectively while navigating health, disability and aged-care systems.

We help people:
UNDERSTAND
Know your rights, options, process and what questions to ask
PREPARE
Organise information, records, questions, timelines and the outcomes you are seeking
COMMUNICATE
Express concerns, needs and preferences clearly and confidently
FOLLOW THROUGH
Keep records, seek clarification and ensure agreed actions aren't lost.
PERSIST
Know when and how to follow up or escalate appropriately when something isn't resolved.
Persistence isn't confrontation. It is staying informed, following through and continuing to ask appropriate questions when something matters.
People, not systems, come first.
Systems and processes should service people – not the other way around.
We believe the voice, rights, dignity, preferences and wellbeing of the individual must remain central to decisions that affect their life.
Families and whānau also bring knowledge that matters. They often know the person, their history, their needs and the changes they are seeing in ways that cannot always be captured in an assessment, report or brief interaction.
Professional expertise and lived experience are not competing forms of knowledge. Effective care needs both.
What we are not
A legal service
A medical provider
A government agency
A replacement for statutory advocacy
We are an independent advocacy education and empowerment social enterprise. We complement – rather than replace – legal, clinical, statutory advocacy and complaint services.
